Interesting power play in AZ

If the AZ immigration law is contested on it's constitutionality and found lacking, the outcome would probably take some years. What would become of the illegal aliens who are picked up and deported or jailed according to AZ state law BEFORE it was found to be unconstitutional? Do they get a free pass to re-enter the USA or get out of jail because their constitutional rights were ignored? What constitutional rights?
Do illegal immigrants have any?

Not if I were elected King!

  1. I don't think anybody is suggesting a free pass to enter the USA, but this idea that illegal immigrants don't have any constitutional rights is a dangerous statement. It seems like every living thing on the planet should have essential inalienable rights - - - like the right to be treated with respect (ie. not tortured, nor abused).

It also seems important to share the responsibility for what causes them to be there in the first place. There are many US employers who would not be able to exist if they didn't have access to cheap, immigrant labor. Shouldn't these US employers bear some of the moral, financial, and legal responsibilities for their labor supply?

And lastly, I would challenge you to rethink your view that immigrants have no rights - - - for what are "rights" if not limits to protect the weak from the powerful? Do you really want to live in a world where the "police" have no limits on what they do to anybody they deem to be "criminal"?

    Not me.
